Where do I find a design?
Use shutterstock.com — the only stock site this service works with. Search “seamless pattern”, choose a design and take a screenshot of it. Do not buy it yet. Upload or paste the screenshot here and use it to position the print on the bag. When you place the order, I buy the original with its licence and build the print file from the original, never from the screenshot. Own artwork follows the same two steps: a screenshot here to position it, the original file sent with the order. That original must be seamless, and it must be either a vector (AI or EPS), which works at any size, or a picture at 300 dpi — 120 pixels for every centimetre it prints. Work the size out from your repeat: a 20 cm repeat needs 2400 pixels across.
What is a seamless pattern?
A picture whose edges carry on into each other, so it can be laid down side by side over and over and no join shows. It is repeated across the piece as many times as the size you choose. A single illustration or drawing is a different thing: it is not repeated. Use “fit the bag” under the size slider and it is scaled proportionally until it covers the piece once, keeping its own proportions so nothing is squashed.
